Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of PhotoJam (https://photojam.co). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What PhotoJam is

PhotoJam is a free, browser-based photo editor that requires no sign-up or login. The service is funded by advertising: there is no paid plan or charge of any kind to use the editing tools.

2. Local processing: your images are never uploaded

All image processing happens in your browser. PhotoJam does not send, receive or store on any server the images you open or edit. The only record kept is the local autosave (IndexedDB), stored exclusively in your own browser. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Precisely because of this, the local autosave is not a cloud backup: if you clear your browser data, switch devices, or use private/incognito mode, the saved project will be lost. Export the final PNG whenever you want to make sure the result is not lost.

3. Permitted use

You agree to use PhotoJam only for lawful purposes. Among other things, it is prohibited to:

• Use the editor to create, edit or distribute illegal, defamatory content, or content that infringes third-party rights;
• Attempt to interfere with the site's operation, including attacks, reverse engineering the code, or deliberately overloading the service;
• Use bots or automation to access the site abusively.

4. Your images and your content

You are solely responsible for the images you edit and the content you create in PhotoJam, including the right to use them (copyright, image rights of people depicted, etc.). Since we never receive or store your images, we do not claim any ownership or license over them.

5. PhotoJam's intellectual property

The code, design, the “PhotoJam” brand and other site elements (outside of the content you create yourself) belong to PhotoJam or its licensors. You may use the editor freely for your own projects, but you may not copy, redistribute or commercially exploit the software or the brand without authorization.

6. Advertising

PhotoJam displays (or may display) third-party advertisements to remain free. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, products or services advertised by these networks. Advertising cookies are only used with your consent. See the Privacy Policy.

7. The service is provided “as is”

PhotoJam is offered free of charge, “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of continuous availability, error-free operation, or fitness for a particular purpose. We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PhotoJam is not liable for data loss (including locally saved projects), lost profits, or indirect damages arising from use or inability to use the service. Use the editor at your own risk and export important results.

9. Changes to the service and these terms

We may update these Terms of Use and the service itself at any time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the version in effect. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Suspension of access

We may restrict or block access for users who violate these terms or misuse the service, without prior notice, when necessary to protect the site or other users.

11. Governing law

PhotoJam is operated from Brazil, and these terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil, regardless of the language you use the site in. Disputes will be submitted to the jurisdiction of the user's domicile, in accordance with applicable consumer protection law.
