Styling text like a real layer, not a fixed caption bar
Text in PhotoJam is a layer like any other — it can sit above or below other layers, get resized and rotated with the same handles, and carry its own stroke, shadow or glow from the layer styles panel.
The text panel covers the basics a caption needs: font family, size, bold, italic, underline, left/center/right alignment and color, all applied live so you see the result as you adjust it rather than after confirming a dialog.
Need more than one line of text with different styling — a title and a smaller subtitle, say? Add a second text layer rather than mixing styles within one, and align the two using the same align/distribute tools that work on any layer.
Because it’s a real layer, text also respects the layer order: place it above a darkened or blurred region of the photo, an adjustment layer for instance, to keep it legible against a busy background.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the font?
Yes, the text panel lists the available fonts alongside size, style and color controls.
Can I move the text after placing it?
Yes, drag it like any other layer, or use arrow keys for fine positioning.
Can text have a shadow or outline?
Yes, the same layer style panel used for shapes — stroke, drop shadow, glow — works on text layers too.
Can I add more than one line of text?
Yes, either within one text layer or as separate text layers if each line needs its own style.
